Privacy Policy
Last updated placeholder, pending legal review
This Privacy Policy is placeholder content for design purposes and has not been reviewed by counsel. Replace this page with a final, legally reviewed policy before launch.
1. Who this applies to
This policy covers anyone who creates a FounderGPT account or visits our web app. If you're located in the EEA, UK, or California, you may have additional rights described in Section 8.
2. What we collect
Account information from Google sign-in, such as your name, email address, and profile photo. Content you send us, including your conversations with FounderGPT and any feedback, support requests, or contact form submissions. Usage and billing data, such as minutes used, plan details, and payment history (payment card details are handled by our payment processor, not stored by us). Technical data like device type, browser, and rough location inferred from IP address, used for security and to keep the app working properly.
3. How we use it
To run the product: authenticate you, respond to your messages, and remember your preferences. To process payments and manage your subscription or usage. To provide support and respond to feedback or contact requests. To keep the service secure and prevent abuse. To improve FounderGPT, including understanding how features are used.
We treat conversations as sensitive, given they often touch on financials, fundraising, and personal wellbeing, and we handle them accordingly.
4. AI processing
Your messages are sent to our AI provider to generate responses. We work with providers under terms that restrict them from using your conversations to train their own general models, and we'll update this section with the specific provider and terms before launch.
5. Data retention and deletion
We keep your data only as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, or resolve disputes. You can request deletion of your account and data at any time from your Profile, or by contacting us. Some information may be retained briefly in backups or as required by law, such as records needed for tax or payment compliance.
6. Sharing
We don't sell your personal data. We share it only with:
Service providers who help us run FounderGPT, such as our AI provider, hosting provider, and payment processor, bound by contracts limiting their use of your data. Legal or regulatory authorities, when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of FounderGPT or others. A successor entity, if FounderGPT is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, with notice to you.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit and at rest, to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, export, correct, restrict, or delete your data, or to object to certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly from your Profile, or contact us through the Contact page for anything else. If you're in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
9. International transfers
FounderGPT serves founders globally, and your data may be processed in countries other than where you live, including the country where our servers and service providers are located. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for these transfers.
10. Children
FounderGPT isn't intended for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect data from children, and we'll delete any such data if we become aware of it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. We'll let you know about material changes before they take effect.
12. Contact
